Welcome to Semestra ("we", "our", or "us"). Semestra is an offline-first, student-focused mobile application designed to bring academic organization into one simple, private workspace — helping students manage subjects, schedules, tasks, notes, calendars, and learning resources (such as PDFs and presentations) directly on their device.
Your privacy is our utmost priority. Semestra does not collect, transmit, store, or share any of your personal information. Everything you create, import, and organize in Semestra remains 100% on your local device.
1. Zero Personal Data Collection
Semestra operates on a strict offline-first and zero-data-collection philosophy:
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, provide an email address, create a password, or sign in to use Semestra.
- No Personal Information Collected: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any personal identifiers.
- No Remote Servers or Databases: Your academic data is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to any external servers, cloud databases, or remote endpoints operated by us.
2. How Your Academic Data is Stored
All data generated or imported within Semestra is stored locally on your mobile device in secure, sandboxed application storage:
- Subjects & Timetables: Course codes, subject names, class times, instructors, and room locations.
- Tasks & Deadlines: Homework checklists, assignment priorities, and due dates.
- Notes & Study Logs: Lecture notes, summaries, and revision logs.
- Learning Resources & Files: Attached PDFs, slide decks (.pptx, .pdf), and reference materials imported by you.
- Academic Calendars: Exam dates, milestones, and personal study schedules.
Because all data is stored exclusively on your device, we have no access to your files, notes, or schedules.
3. Device Permissions
To deliver core offline functionality, Semestra may request the following device permissions:

| Storage / Files | Used solely to allow you to select, import, and view your own learning resources (such as PDFs, presentations, and lecture slides) locally on your device. |
You can grant, modify, or revoke these permissions at any time in your mobile device's system settings.
4. Third-Party Services, Ads, and Analytics
- No Advertisements: Semestra does not display third-party advertisements or ad networks.
- No Tracking SDKs: We do not embed third-party tracking tools, profiling libraries, or behavioral advertising SDKs.
- No Data Selling or Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third-party brokers, advertisers, or organizations.
5. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion
- User Controlled: Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times.
- Deleting Data: You can delete individual subjects, tasks, notes, or attached files directly within the app.
- App Removal: Uninstalling the Semestra app or clearing the app's local storage through your device settings will permanently remove all locally stored data.
6. Children's Privacy
Semestra is designed as a safe, private educational companion for students of all ages. Because Semestra does not collect any personal information whatsoever, it is fully compliant with student and child privacy standards, including COPPA and GDPR provisions.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we make any adjustments to this Privacy Policy in the future, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Any changes will continue to uphold our commitment to student privacy and offline-first data protection.
