Last Updated: September 2026
Welcome to Semestra! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your download, installation, and use of the Semestra offline-first mobile application.
By installing, accessing, or using Semestra, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the application.
1. Description of Service
Semestra is an offline-first, student-focused mobile workspace application designed to help students organize their academic life in one private, campus-inspired hub. The app allows users to manage:
- Subjects & Timetables: Class schedules, lecture times, venues, and instructor details.
- Tasks & Assignments: Homework tracking, submission deadlines, and priority checklists.
- Notes & Learning Resources: Class notes, lecture slides, presentation documents, and PDF attachments.
- Academic Calendars: Exam dates, milestones, and personal semester study agendas.
The application operates locally on your mobile device without requiring account creation, remote server processing, or internet access for core functionality.
2. No Account Required & Local Usage
- No Account Registration: Semestra does not require you to register, sign up, create an account, or submit personal credentials.
- Local Operation: All features and stored data operate strictly on your local device.
3. Ownership of Content & Student Materials
- Your Content Belongs to You: You retain 100% ownership and intellectual property rights to all notes, schedules, assignment trackers, task entries, and imported documents (such as PDFs or presentation decks) that you manage in Semestra.
- No Cloud Transmission: Semestra does not claim any rights, licenses, or ownership over your content. Since Semestra operates offline, your content is never transmitted to our servers.
4. Acceptable Use Guidelines
When using Semestra, you agree that you will not:
- Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, modify, disassemble, or extract the source code of the Semestra mobile application.
- Use Semestra for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws and regulations.
- Distribute modified, unauthorized, or pirated copies of the application.
5. Local Storage, Data Loss & Backups
- Local Storage Management: Because Semestra is an offline-first mobile application, all data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage.
- User Responsibility for Backups: You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of critical study materials, notes, or assignment files. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device damage, loss, operating system resets, or uninstallation of the application.
6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- Personal Productivity Tool: Semestra is designed as a personal organization companion. It does not replace official school registrar systems, institutional learning management systems (LMS), or direct notifications from instructors.
- "As Is" Basis: Semestra is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. While we aim for high reliability and accurate local reminder alerts, we are not liable for missed class sessions, uncompleted deadlines, or device notification failures beyond our reasonable control.
7. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms as the application evolves. Any updates will be reflected with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the application following updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
